Steven Goldberg is Principal and Senior Consultant for SGP Consultants. Prior to founding SGP Consultants, he was a Senior Retirement Plan Consultant at Hewitt Associates where he began that company’s Puerto Rico retirement plan practice in 1992. He was the Regional Retirement Plan Practice Leader for fifteen years.
Steven has designed, implemented, converted and administered plans in Puerto Rico, the United States, Central America, South America and the Antilles. His experience in defined contribution (1165(e) and 401(k)) plans and traditional pension plans goes deep from years of hands-on experience in record keeping, plan accounting, compliance, testing, communications, project management, qualified plan tax issues and non-qualified plans. Steven also holds close relationships with many members of the retirement plan professional community that enable him to facilitate projects and better serve his clients.
Steven graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of California, Berkeley and holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from California State University, East Bay.
Steven is originally from Aberdeen, South Dakota and has lived in San Juan, Puerto Rico since 1992, where he raised his son Etienne.
